Eastern Washington has some beautiful countryside for sure and for certain. I was born in Pullman Washington, grew up in Colfax Washington 59 miles south of Spokane. When I was a kid we would fish at Fishtrap Lake Resort near Sprague, caught some big Lake Trout there. My dad was good friends with Jim Scroggie who owned and operated Fishtrap from 1952 to 2001. We used to rent a cabin there. Caught a 36 inch Steelhead above Lower Granite dam on the Snake back in the early 90s.
My brother is in the Seattle area. We go on big trips out of there a couple times a year. I've driven through that area several times but we've never tried fishing any of it... that big desert and fishing just seem to be at odds .... We did try the Columbia at Hanford reach on the way back last year... Not much luck... 50 degrees and wind blowing 50 mph.... You desert dudes are tough.... and you sure can see a long way...
Had several nice outings this summer and fall. This is the nicest one I've ever done. Comfortable and a real head turner... But as usual it's time to start thinking about the next one.... It's for sale with the motor if anyone is interested, PM me...
Thanks gents... this is about the only place on earth where people might know what it took, so the appreciation means something to me.
Now just wish I could sell them for what it cost me to do it.... (without labor)... Either way it's better than smoking dope... or whatever other hobby I've tried over the years... keeps me going...
