1968 Mirrocraft Rebuild continues

Selected almond color for interior. Brush painted the seats and brackets. First coat of spray paint on the new aluminum panels for supporting the foam under the seats.

Finally time to re install the original foam under the seats. I used automotive plastic fasteners to hold the shape. With the panels in place I will add Secure Set 2 part foam to glue the old foam in place and give the face panels some support.

I am in the automotive industry, we call those fasteners Christmas trees for obvious reasons lol

Foaming was fun and good to have nearly done. Started today on the aluminum plates to fix the hole in the stern left by the transducer mounting bracket.

Painted the inside with 2 coats of oil based Rustoleum. A little bit of mineral spirits really helps get rid of brush strokes. The holes and corrosion from the stainless steel transducer bracket were wire brushed; covered with JB Weld, then clamped between two 3"x4"x1/4" 6061 aluminum, countersunk 10-32 SS machine screws hold the plates together. When the transducer mount is put back on there will be some substantial material to drill and tap.
