I have a 1972 StarCraft Mariner 14 Ft Seafarer, I have a 25 HP Merc Mariner long shaft, my boat has a 15 inch transom height, my motor is 6 inches down under the anti-ventilation plate so I need to bring up the motor on the transom, does anyone have a inexpensive solution to the problem without having to spend a couple of hundred dollars on a jack plate or transom jack. Thanks to all who reply.

I bought a new B&H mini jacker on ebay for $48.00 with shipping. Now that was a few years ago but if you look deals can be found.

2"x2" x1/4" aluminum angle and a piece of 2x10 lumber can make a good setback/ jack plate a few members here have made some like this. I too have a short transom and a long shaft motor and I plan to make one

Thanks for the advice and the fast reply, I looked at a Mini-Jacker online and was considering it. Happy Fishing
