Well i finally got started, Ill try to post pics but not to great with a puter :D . First day i got her in the garage and started sanding. Man i hate sanding :evil: . This was Friday.

Well started Saturday with Filling holes and more sanding :evil: . But I got to spend some quality time with my son and teach him a thing or two( free labor) :D . All day of this I slept good.

Sunday I started to prime. I used rustoleum self etching primer, 2 coats and she looked like new. Man if I knew this 6 years ago I would have done it then. Well thats how I spent my weekend. Have to go back to work tomorrow but plan on doing a little each day. Ill keep posting as i get things done.

I was wondering whether the self etching primer needs to be wet sanded or just paint.
I'm getting ready to finish priming my Jon and didn't know
 
Looks great! I really like the white and red. I have two quarts of red topside, and with your permission, I may copy your paint scheme.

Is that MarineTex your son is applying/smoothing? Is that what you used to fill unwanted holes?
 
Sure go ahead, no he is wiping down where i sanded the primer he loved doing it lol. I used jb weld marine for the holes.
I sanded the primer with 600 grit real light to try to get it as smooth as i could.
