I can't seem to figure out how to keep the motor in the horizontal position. I see that there is a release to put the motor up, but how do I get it to stay up? It's way too close to the ground when trailering right now (gonna raise bunks, which are too low; and this isn't the trailer I bought with it, had to switch to redo lights) and I would like to ride with it in the upright position. Once I get it up, is there a way to lock it? All I see is a little piece shaped like a half moon that can be trimmed up or something, but nothing permanent that locks?

Get a motor toter (transom saver). Even if yours had one, whatever gizmo that holds the motor up is not designed to take the stress from trailering.

Yeah, I guess so. Just was hoping to see if there was a way to keep the motor locked in that horizontal position.

tighten the bolt that it pivots on to give it a bit more resistance so it'll stay up . it won't lock it and keep it up for trailering but if your on the water and want to keep the motor up, it will.
