A buddy of mine has an Eska 9.9 he wants to sell. He said it's been lightly used and runs well (new carb kit just put in). From what I can tell, parts are REALLY HARD to locate if something needs to be repaired. Would it be worth $200 - $250?

I'm looking for a used outboard to put on a 1436 jon boat. Anyone out there have any thoughts about a 1984 Eska 9.9hp???

Thanks!

$200 and it runs good? that would be a good deal on a 9.9hp anything. I know nothing of eska's but new motors are a pretty penny. I just bought a twin to my 1984 9.9hp sea king chrysler for $75 for a parts motor unfortunally I found out it runs great too and I will refurb it, but the parts and fixing will cost another $100. My point is $200 for any good running outboard is a good deal. If it pushes your boat for 5 or more years you got your moneys worth.
