I started pulling up floor on the bow to replace and have found more and more rotten wood. Plan is to replace entire floor. Now it looks like I may have to do the transom also. Everything has went pretty smooth so far. I have a couple questions for someone that has done some of this work. Do I need to replace the foam I pulled out in the back corners? Is there a composite material I can replace the transom with?

I haven't started removing the transom yet. Am I going to have to drill out all the rivets to get this out?

Thanks

Do I need to replace the foam I pulled out in the back corners?

I would assume the original foam was designed to provide level buoyancy in case of swamping. To maintain that, you would need to replace an equal amount of floatation. Maybe not those exact spots, but in the general areas.

Is there a composite material I can replace the transom with?

I read about this stuff called Coosa board. It is used in transoms, decks, etc as a replacement for plywood. People have nothing but positive things to say about it, but it is very pricey.
