I've been on this site for several weeks looking for modification ideas. I've had the boat for several years but due to college, I haven't had the time or money to properly maintain it. The original paint had began to fade pretty bad and there were a few gouges/deep scratches from exposed screwheads on the bunk boards. I've added a new (to me) Minn Kota trolling motor, hatches, switch panel, and a few other accessories. I started by putting on a couple coats of Parkers Duck Boat Paint in Marsh Grass color and rolled Durabak on the decking and floors. I'm also in the process of adding an aereator/recirculation pump into the gravity fed livewell. Once I started, I kept finding things to add or change and the project ended up taking longer than expected. I'm currently in the home stretch and will finish it up tomorrow. Below are pictures of the progress. The front decking and floors have been removed in the two interior photos.

The engine is a 1989 40 hp Johnson with a console and vro.

A few years ago I rolled Cabelas Tuff Coat on a portion of the decking and floors. During my various moves over the past several years, I didn't keep the boat covered and the Tuff Coat started to peel and chip away. After looking at a few other modifications on this site, I decided to try Durabak. A previous mod. mentioned Kiwigrip and it looks like a good product but I went with Durabak. We'll see how it holds up compared to the Tuff Coat. Below are a few pictures of the floors and decking after they were stripped with aircraft stripper and wirebrushed along with pictures of the finished durabak coating.IMG00018-20110531-1533.jpg

I removed the decals, primed the bare spots with self etching primer and painted it with Parkers Duck Boat Paint. Self etching primer was also placed on the decking and floors before applying the durabak.

Your boat looks like the same as mine. Different trailer though. I kind of like that that color. Mine is the Parker green. Nice tough boat you have there.

Lookin' good !

I thought I had my mind set on Kiwigrip,
but I will deff. have to give Durabak a look.
