Looking for some idea's on my first boat. I do alot of catfishing and would really like a large live well and a flat floor. I don't see how those old timers did it.

The seat benches in mine have support soars. Different type of attachment design than mine. Wonder if yours is a later model?

Get some aluminum angle and a rivet gun. Mine has benches too and it's gonna get a floor and an aisle through the middle bench. A cooler with ice will handle any keepers and a homemade tank will handle bait.

I was initially thinking of just using wood for my StarCraft but the aluminum angle is intriguing. I'd need to invest in a chop saw I guess as I doubt my handheld skilsaw would be adequate.

Is there a good thread on aluminum angle floor construction that you'd specifically recommend?

@Brandtcountry -- have you looked into removing that Transom wood? Curious how you plan to go about it or how difficult that was to tackle. Looks like if I just remove those corner caps that are screwed in and then the molding looks to be riveted to the wood somehow?

I was just thinking about replacing the transom wood today. I believe the trim is actually held on by some kind of fancy nail and not a rivet. I guess we'll find out sometime this week I'm focused on shaping these plastic pallets into floor boards.
