How hard is it to mount an electric start on a 2000 25hp tiller, if it is even possible. I looked at my 150hp on my big boat and it appears that a starter could be mounted on my 25. Does anyone know? Thanks for any advise.

I think this is a fair price if this sucker could be put on my engine. 152.00

It can be done. You may need to put a hole in the front of the lower engine cover (or there may be a plastic plug you can remove). You will need the solenoid and start switch to. Also you may need a starter bracket?

Got any pics you can post showing the motor with the cover off?

Yep, agree with johny25. You will need the starter, solenoid and bracket.
Also, if don't already have a gear-toothed fly wheel it will become very spendy.

I think my motor can have a starter and if I remember right the flywheel does have teeth, and the tiller handle looks like it has a place for a pushbutton.

That's because it is your motor  I found those pics on the web

You will need that starter bracket that holds the starter and solenoid. The bracket will bolt right to your motor. Do you have the flywheel with teeth as jasper mentioned?

Well I pulled the cover off last night and I was wrong, My motor does not have the teeth style flywheel..... :| Oh well, maybe next time. The flywheel is like a big yo-yo so I think my alternative is to wait until the next project boat for the electric starter.....Thanks for the replies anyways.
