25hp 2stroke merc or 25hp 2stroke yamaha

If u were going to spend your hard earned money what would u buy a 2005 25hp 2stroke merc with 6hrs or a 2008 25hp 2stroke yamaha with 10hrs.The reason i ask is u can still get the yamaha but not the merc and i know their is alot of die hard merc 25hp people who would love to get there hands on a clean beauty.so all opinions count thanks get back.

Personally, I tend to go with the newer equipment. But in this case, just because it's newer, doesn't mean it's more valuable.

Test driving the motor is key; or at least hooking it up to some earmuffs and letting her run. Warranties are also favored :wink:

I love mercs, but if the owner didn't do his/her part, the motor isn't worth the debate. Are you actually considering a purchase, or just looking to see what people favor?
