I am looking for ideas and pics from those of you who have mounted a FF to the bow area. I just purchased a new Lowrance HDS PRO 10. I will replace my current Lowrance HDS LIVE 9 with this new unit and move the LIVE 9 to the bow. I have a new Terrova 24V/80#/60 that does not have a built-in transducer so I'll need to mount my 3 in 1 Active Imaging transducer to TM.

Questions:
1. How did you mount the transducer to TM?
2. How did you handle the transducer cable run from transducer to FF head unit? I've read that managing the cable can be an issue.
3. Is the distance from FF to your eyes, when seated or standing, an issue viewing detailed FF images, considering a 9" FF screen?
4. Any distortion of FF screen images when on anchor mode (when motor is constantly moving around, especially when there is some wind)?

Any pics of you install would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Large Zip Ties. I let my cable hang a little loose and zip tie to the coiled cable at the head, and then run it through the coiled cable. It's loose so when you spin it, it never gets tight enough to rip the cable. Then you have to still watch it. That takes getting used to. I've ripped several cables over the years. There are special 'ducer mounts for this, but I've never used one.

Some will route the cable through a coil-type air hose, and those seem to be very successful.

Route the cable where it's best, usually along the gunwhale. There are zip ties made for hanging stuff. They have a ring built in that you can screw or rivet through. On many boats, I can slide the rings through existing bolts and add a nut, meaning no new fasteners

3. Is the distance from FF to your eyes, when seated or standing, an issue viewing detailed FF images, considering a 9" FF screen?
Closer is always better, but I can see my 9" Garmin from pretty much anywhere in the boat, depending on my color scheme. I like the Lowrance color scheme that goes from dark purple to bright yellow. I wish Garmin had that color scheme!

4. Any distortion of FF screen images when on anchor mode (when motor is constantly moving around, especially when there is some wind)?
Not really, unless you are in side-scan mode, which doesn't really work when anchored.

Any pics of you install would be appreciated.

Thanks!
No pics. My boat is put up, probably for the winter, so not likely I'll get any soon, sorry.

FF mount modified Millineum Single pole holder for a 93SV raises, lowers, extends any direction it's on a track. The transducer is mounted to the bottom of my PD 70# TM with homemade bracket and cable is managed with bicycle cable lock, but only smaller than the normal cable everyone else recommends.
