4 lb bass and guy in funny looking hat!

It doesn't look it, but the fish weighed 4 pounds and was 19 1/4 inches long.

Nothing was biting very well and I thought what the heck. Put on an old school jitterbug and whammo! Topwater strikes are a lot of fun!

My fishing buddy wanted the picture....mainly because of my new hat and netting to keep the gnats and mosquitoes off me. (I'll probably end up photoshopped somewhere)

We've got some here in TX, but heck, when I lived up there (Northern ILL) we still had sleet in April. Must be global warming or you live way down in Southern IL. regards, Rich

Not mosquitoes yet, but the gnats are already terrible. I'm in west central IL.

Same idea but casts about a 100000 times better and catches fish like crazy
