Any problems mounting this on the rear of a tracker 175? Any ideas? Thank you. Don

It is a big transducer that may need allot of tweaking to get good SI and 2D returns. Mounting board, highly recommended.

Don,
Check out page 8 in my build in the link below. It might give you some ideas.

You will want to use a wider board than gillhunter. The Si is harder to set-up than a DI unit, and usually want some flexibility in horizontal mounting. To get both sides to image well, the transducer need to be closer to the center of the boat than what you would do with a 2D. Post a pic of your transom.

That's the unit I have, and it takes a lot of tweaking to get it set up right. Because you'll probably have to move the transducer a few times to get the right result, a transducer mounting board like what was suggested above is HIGHLY recommended, unless you just want a lot of holes in your transom!

One of the biggest problems is getting 2D depth readings at speed. I never could get a good combination of SI + 2D at speed, and since I already had a second 2D transducer from an old unit, I added it with a Y cable. The Y cable blocks the 2D signal from the SI transducer so the unit sees 2D from the 2D ducer, and SI from the SI ducer. With that combo I was able to raise the SI ducer up on the transom (to avoid the possibility of it getting hit) while still getting 2D at speed.

I'm not suggesting you'll have to do all that, but just saying it will probably take several adjustments to get that SI transducer set up in the best combination, and a mounting board will make that much easier.

Here's a pic of the way mine are set up...
