Aluminum Console?

I need to make a console for my 14' tiller to house fuse panel, bus, switches, etc. and I was considering aluminum. Is there any reason it couldn't be made out of .060 aluminum stock as long as it was grounded?

Not sure Im understanding your question.
Do you want to use the aluminum as a ground for your devices?(not a good practice)
Or do you just want to build a box to hold your fusebox , buss bars etc? (okay to do , no need to ground it)

Aluminum is no issue, my steering console is aluminum and gets it ground throuh metal to metal contact.

Grounding/bonding is no issue either, your just not alowed to use hull as a return path.
