I fish mostly two local lakes. One is electric motor only, the other I fish the "No Wake" section. Taking into consideration the location and the wave size from passing boats, is it safe to anchor in both the bow and stern? I'd really like to be able to keep the boat positioned for fishing without it pivoting around the bow anchor and ending up with the stern always facing the shoreline or where I want to fish. I wouldn't even consider this in rough water conditions but relatively calm water with no more than waves made by boats in a No Wake Area.
Thanks,
Larry

here is a link on the proper method on anchoring.https://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/westadvisor/10001/-1/10001/AnchoringTechniques.htm that being said on small lakes or calm lakes i always anchore of the stern and bow .i use 10lb mushroom anchores when ever a bass boat goes bye fast my boat will lift the anchores in the waves .it might not be proper but that is how i do it

I just anchor from the stbd bow cleat. Spinning on the "hook" (anchor) doesn't bother me that much. No big boats where I fish (all jons, electric only), but if I were in water where bigger boats cause wakes, I'd be worried that a [large] wave (or two) might break over the stern and cause something not desired.

That is a great way to do it!

You can also run two anchors off the front like we do when wreck fishing

If I am trying to anchor on a fishing hole I don't power back to set the anchor. That just stirs up the waters and spooks the fish. I'll put out 5 times depth if using 1 anchor. If using 2 anchors (bow and stern) I'll put out 8 times depth on front anchor, drift til it's tight, drop stern anchor straight down and let out that line while I pull in half of the front line. That ends up with 4 times depth on front and back. Adjust according to current direction and strength.
