Take it from an old infantry grunt if you know where your gonna get a blister put a piece of ducktape on it before you start your hike always worked for me :lol:

I too am an old infantry grunt, infantry machinegunner.
I get blisters no matter what, I just live with it.

Now this is a hobby I can relate with. Unfortunately my Doctor made me quite a few yrs ago and I sure do miss it. I used to backpack in Yosemite National Park at least a couple times per month and a lot in the Sequoia National Forest as well. Nothing like fresh caught trout for supper after a long days hike. Lord how I miss those days. Never failed to recharge my spiritual batteries.
 
Thanks for the post. I have been looking for a backpacking fishing excursion out west. Never thought of Yellowstone. I'll have to research it. any tips on good sources of information?
