Has anyone used the Parkers Duck Boat paint? Or anything that comes out looking similar to that finish? Also, for those that have used it, what did your boat end up looking like when done? The Parkers website has color samples, but they don't seem to match the boats online that have the paint on them. Lastly, I put steelflex on my boat about 4 years ago and if I remember correctly, it just needs to be scuffed up before it can be painted over, if I'm wrong about this please let me know.

Thanks for the help!

Yes I used and use Parker's! Applies very nicely with sprayer or brush/roller. Instructions are very straight forward and the customer service is great. If you go with Parker's, order online so you can get the color you want and the paint cheaper than most if not all retailers. Ships fast! You can view my post as one gallon was spot on for 1636 2 coats inside and out.

I used dead grass and others have used desert sand for base coat which is a little lighter.

PanFried, how did it look when the paint had more time to cure? I think the hunter green is going to be more what I'm looking for since I need something darker. Maybe the marsh grass.

Ahab, this is a duck boat too, so I think some paint will be helpful. That nice aluminum is a little too easy to see from the sky!! Also, I'm putting a little bit of Gluvit on some rivets and I understand that needs to be painted over so that it won't deteriorate in the sun.

The Parker's has a nice satin/flat finish. I let cure 7 days between coats and it turned our very nice. With proper prep the Parker's turned out with a strong finish which is holding up well even with normal boat abuse (gravel, sand, etc... Shorelines).

Ahhh - ok a duck boat gets a pass from my rants about paint

Let it rain lead (well steelshot or tungsten) all day!

I have used it (dead grass) and it seemed to dry very close to the sample. If anything, maybe a bit lighter. Durability is very good. I strap my boat down to the trailer and that's about the only real wear I see other than the floor.

Hope I'm not to late to the party, but I used sand tan on my duck boat and it came out great!! The sand tan was my base layer and I camo stenciled with brown and black. Once the leaves are off the trees and all the green is gone, my boat dissapears into whatever island we have it parked at while hunting.

Just saw you were in Florida. Probably have green around all year? Either way, I'm more than happy with the durability (I'm HARD on my boat), ease of application and price with the Parkers duck boat paint.
