Tracker Topper 1542, Tohatsu 25 hp 2 stroke.
450# of people, six gallons of gas and associated gear.

Ole motor sounds wound up. No tach. Running a 9.9x10, thinking about an 11 pitch. What cha'll think?

More pitch might give a little better hole shot but may cut top speed. Only way to know for sure is to connect a tach. 26 mph seems pretty good though.

stainless or aluminum prop? Im running a merc 25hp 2 stroke on a 1648 with 450# people 110# of batteries 6gal gas and gear and run a 13pitch. I could even go with a 14pitch but then when I add another person performance suffers q bit so I stay with the 13. I run aluminum props and if running stainless I would look at a 11 or 12pitch.

It's aluminum. Solas Amita 3. Beat to crap. What kind of speed are you getting?

I running 400 lbs ppl & batteries, 6 gal gas and a trolling motor in a 1538 with a 25hp Mariner 2 stroke, stainless 12 pitch and I do good to hit 25mph on the GPS with no wind and no current. Sounds like you're doing pretty good to me.

I got 28mph with just me 26mph with gear listed above and 23mph with a 3rd 200lb person. Im also running a solas amita 3 blade. My boat is a mod v and in my experience they do tend to run just a hair faster than a traditional flat bottom.

Well I went with the 12. Rpm's are much better.

Without a tack you are guessing but, a lower pitch will increase RPMs and a higher pitch will decrease RPM (add more load to the engine). You should be able to hit max RPM at WOT with the minimum load in the boat. If you plan on always being by yourself then you can increase the pitch and this will give a little better top end and a little less hole shot, if you plan on loading the boat up then you will want to reduce the pitch slightly to relieve the load on the motor.

The 12 pitch is working out really well.

It's not that I want a speed boat, but it's nice to know it's performing at it's best.
