I asked this question once before, but didn't really get any answers. I bought a new bulldog transom mount foot control trolling motor from ebay. I didn't realize it is transom mount for the bow. Anyone know if there is any way to use it on the transom?

Didn't quite understand what you were speaking of at first.I went back a bit to get some info.Does your jon have a rear deck?If so mount it there. If not you will have to fabricate a plate of some sort to form a deck from the transom to the rear seat to mount it to.Post a pic of your boat, maybe get a better idea of what you are looking for.

It just screw on like a transom moutn, but mad for the front. My probelm is I was wanting to mount it on the back, but that would turn the motor copletly around. Didn't study it before I bought it. I just seen transom mount and thought it would go on the back of the boat. Bought it to go on my crawdad, If I have to I can put it up front, but really like to run the motor from the back, easier when banking the boat. If you want look at it in the bass pro book or website.

Ok twds,I went to BPS and checked it out.You didn't say it was a MOTORGUIDE,They are easy.
1-Take the top cover off.Should be 3 screws-access from bottom of head.
2-Follow the cables of the foot control until you find the RACK.I believe there are 2-4 screws that hold it in place.Remove the screws, then lift the Rack up and rotate the lower unit to where you want it.Adjust the foot control to where you want it,and replace the Rack.
3-Orient the directional arrow to coincide with the change in the lower unit, and replace the cover.

NOTE: make sure you don't inadvertently disconnect any wires.

I have a MOTORGUIDE.And have had it apart a few times.I have to pop the top on it again to adjust the directional arrow, because I was in a hurry last time I had it apart.Didn't line it up right.

Hope this helps you out.
