First off I want to thank you all for the help with my 2005 Johnson motor propeller. You guys are the best.
Have one more question......

I use my boat in freshwater so my question can I use a standard cotter key for my prop nut? Would this be an issue?

I winterize my boat so it gets the once over every year ( except for major work) so I check the prop as well for fishing line, grease, etc.

Just having issues finding stainless cotter pins in the size I need.
You're opinions are appreciated.

If you need a cotter pin right now it will be fine, then order some online.

After 60 years if boating in fresh water, never saw a cotter key rust away.....I typically replace them every other year anyway so they don't break by doing two prop checks each year..
