Considering a set of Load Guide Posts - Any Rec's?

Today I finally remembered to drop tailgate to back trailer down ramp. Worked really well.

How many of us have been in that same situation ? At one time, my truck had a cap on it, thought it was dumb to lower the tailgate...it wasn't...with both back hatches open it was easy to see the trailer !!

I found that on windy day its had to line up the boats and river fishing withthe current plays X#$@ with the boat. The guide posts really helpto lineup the trailer and b oat, it also to line up the boat to load the trailer. nd they don't cost that much compared to theboat or the trailer.

For what it's worth, for 90% of trailers and ramps, when you back the trailer down, don't put the trailer any deeper than the tops of the tires. This may look like it's too far out of the water, but try it. This makes it MUCH easier to load in wind and current. The boat will go up and center itself almost automatically. No butt-end of the boat floating sideways or out of level.

Depending on your HP, you can either push the boat most or all the way up with the motor, or you may have to crank a small HP boat the last foot or two. Even if the latter, it really beats trying again and again to get the boat on straight.

I have helped many, many people with this tip, and very few rigs won't work with this. Guides still can help, but this greatly reduces the need for them.

I never even touch or focus on guides. I focus on the winch/rubber pulley thing. I back in trailer until the bunk carpet is all wet, then pull up until 1/3 of bunk is out the water. Then drive the boat up and use the throttle for last foot or so. Works good.

each boat is different I have a 14 SmokerCraft but the trailer is not original ,I have to get the trailer deep or the bow will bottom out on the frame ,beside that loading is easy power loading is frowned on anyway
