I just bought a new to me (1996) G3 1756, and need some opinions on a front deck. The previous owner removed the factory deck for more storage, and I need a deck on the front for fishing/bowfishing. I would love to build an aluminum deck, but it is expensive and I don't have a welder to weld aluminum, so I am going with a wood deck. What type of plywood do I need to use for this deck? I have read that pressure treated will corrode the aluminum, so that is out of the question. I am having trouble finding marine plywood in my area, and when I do find it, it will be twice the price of regular plywood. Will regular non-treated plywood work? I was already planning on covering the deck in bedliner, so if I seal the wood with a water sealer first, then spray it with bedliner, will this last me a few years? What water sealant should I use? Thanks!

NO PT wood for sure. I would search high and low for a welder. Personally I believe in do it once and do it right and I wouldn't use wood. Not saying others haven't had decent luck but I've read more negatives over the years than positives. I just finished my SeaArk build and bought a LOT of aluminum and it was hard to find a welder but I found one.

Any other opinions? Aluminum just isn't going to work right now because, like I said, it is way more expensive and I don't have the tools to work with it.

Thanks boatingcop. I think I have some fiberglass resin in the shop, so I will coat it with that.
