Is it possible to run 2 Humminbird Piranhamax 170's at the same time using the same transducer? From what I understand if I mount both transducers on the transom they will interfere with one another. A switch won't work because I need them both on at the same time. Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards,

I considered doing the same thing last week. I have an extra FF and needed to add a depth finder/FF up front. However, they were two different brands. I bought an Eagle Cuda for $70.00 and put that on the bow in a removable mount.

One concern would be low power coming off of the T'ducer. It may not deliver sufficient tiny micro voltages needed to drive two devices. Another concern would be feeding the 12 v power. On my Cuda, the 12 v feed arrives in the same cord that carries the t'ducer signal.

If you decide to give it a try ( what could you lose?) let us know how it comes out.

regards, Rich

p.s. I always love to find another tinkerer....

I know there was switch that you could hook up 2 displays up at once BUT only 1 could work at a time.
This was awhile ago.
Now with alot of the high end model fishfinders you can hook them together like a computer(ethernet) or the display can read out on another gauge that will display the depth, temp etc...

it needs the signal it produces to read it? you can run 2 as long as they are the same brand, and have 2 separate ducers. Unless they are higher end and you link them, generally linking them only shares gps, they still have separate ducers.
