Well,

First thing first, the Transom board needs to be replace in order to get the boat in the water.

I got all 6 new screws with nuts and washers, I also got 3M 5200 sealant and Acetone to prep the surface.

The 3M sealant I had to buy at Lowes, a whole tube for $13, but I also got a smaller tube at walmart for $7.

The big tube says it must be used within 24 after being open, there is no way that I could use that whole thing
in so little time, so I think the smaller tube will do the trick for the small job that I have pending.

I got a piece of 1 x 12 x 36 treated wood which I am going to cut to 1 sq ft, painted with black paint and then
glue the edges just before I secure it with the bolts and nuts. I am painting with Oil based paint that I got from Lowes
to paint a metal trailer that I used to have, not sure how this paint will do on the wood and water. also, I am not sure how
the sealant will adhere to the fresh oil paint on wood.

I saw a sealant at walmart, 3M 4200 that says it is medium strength and it dries quicker the the 5200, I wonder if that would be a better choice for the small job I am about to do.

Once the boat is ready, I am just need to figure out of a better way to load it on to my utility trailer so that it will be more easy to load it and launch it. Any ideas, bring them on....

Here is a picture of the piece of wood that needs to be replaced.

You ain't gonna cut a piece of 1X12 into a 1 sq ft piece....it's only 11.5" wide  OK, sorry....just yankin' your chain 8) However, we'll expect to see a picture of you with all 10 fingers after you're done

I was thinking about your trailer....if you can get by without needing your flat trailer for anything other than your boat, remove the decking from it, add bunks to the back & a roller on the front, a winch & post, as well as a way to secure it. It might be odd-shaped, but no reason it wouldn't function just like a boat trailer.

I had a lot of hope for today but the rain has slow me down with repairs....

How about the difference between 4200 and 5200 sealant ?

4200 Fast Cure is a one-part general purpose Polyurethane selant with a good adhesion to wood, fiberglass, gelcoat, plastics and metals. Forms watertight, weather-resistant seals on joints and boat hardware above or below the waterline.

3m 4200 fast cure is ideal for hardware and bedding applications. Paintable and sandable. This product is approx. half the strength of 3M Marine Adhesive/Sealant 5200, which allows for disassembly of parts.

I went with the smaller tube for $7 of 4200 at walmart, I think that should be enough for what I am trying to do here.

I think the big tube to be use with a gun, once is open it has to be used completely other wise is a waste because you can't use the left over.

Today here is one of those day where it is hot, sticky and it rains for 30min then stops for an hour, then starts again...

I spent the morning cleaning the shed now I am going to cut the wood for the back peace.
