I took my new G3 1544 out on its maiden voyage yesterday and it ran great. I had a nearly identical boat a few years back and I had the fish finder mounted on a flat plate that attached by way of a bolt that went through the oarlock holes just forward of the rear seat. It was the perfect location for running the lakes and once I was trolling I would simply spin the fish finder forward so I could look back at it when I needed to. If I remember correctly I got it from BPS but now I can't find one like it and none of the other mounts are designed to work as well, at least for my boat. Does anyone out there know where I can get another of these mounting plates? It was about 3 inches in width and about a foot in length. Alternatively, can you give me some idea on where to mount my Lowrance 510c using an mount available from BPS or elsewhere?

Actually, I've looked at all the RAM mounts and can't find one that really works like I want it to. About the only way I could get any of them to work is to mount them on the starboard side of the boat forward of the rear seat or mount them on the forward seat. Neither one is quite what I want.

Glad to hear you finally made it out in the new rig and the boat performed well Deadmeat! Not sure if these will help but here are few sites with different brackets.
