Fish Finder Question

I have got a PiranhaMax fish finder. The power cord isn't long enough to run from the the front of the boat where it is mounted to the back of the boat where the battery is. Does anyone know what kind of wire is used for there power cords? If so I will just run it back to the back of the boat with the trolling motor battery.

you can use size 16 gauge tinned wire it will be fine
some people say that running the depth finder on the same battery as your trolling motor may cause interference but i have never seen it
be sure to install an in line fuse close to the battery
