Hey guys I'm new here and have a question for y'all. I'm lookin to buy me Jon boat nag have it set up for electric only lakes. I'm seriously thinking about a 1860 g3 hull. For the stability and space the boat has. Also it would be very comfortable to fish out of. Do you guys think it's to much for an electric only boat?

I wouldn't say it would be too much for an all electric. You'd definitely have the space and stability issue worked out but you wouldn't be getting anywhere fast (but that goes for any all electric boat). You would also have space for more batteries! The bigger the better

Have you checked any restrictions on the all electric lakes that you want to fish? Several in this area have 16' lenght limits.

Gillhunter what lakes do you fish with length restrictions? I'm from around the Athens area and were probably fishing some of the same lakes.

My bad  I thought I remembered that there were a couple more when I was researching local restrictions a couple years ago. We fish Bear Creek a lot and they have a 16' lenght limit. I don't know how well they enforce it, but I don't recall seeing any boat that I thought was over on it. Where are you fishing?

4 Die Hard Platinum Series Batteries, on board charger, and a MinnKota E-drive electric outboard on the back. THEN 2 batteries up front (one primary and one backup) with a 12 Volt 55lb thrust bow mount with wireless co-pilot/ I-pilot up front.

The E-Drive should get you where you need to go reasonably fast and still within the regulations of the lakes you fish, and the 12 Volt 55lb up front with 2 batt. should be plenty to fish all day and then some.

Maybe a couple of Solar Chargers on board as supplementary power just to trick it out a little!

i fish bear creek, sandy creek, yargo, black shoals, varner, ceader creek, little russell, all of those lakes except for bear creek and varner i have fished out of my 18' skeeter. i thought i seen somewhere the bear creek was a 20' lenght limit but i may be wrong.

You are correct. They have rewritten the rules.
