well i was looking into what boat to get and i saw this website and knew this was for me. I have been looking at all the boats, getting ideas, and storing up questions. My first: how do u secure the sub-flooring to the boat and without harming anything?(i am going to get an equivalant to the Grizzly 14' that is sold at BPS) secondly, how do u secure the deck to the subflooring? I only ask because most of the carpet jobs dont show any screws or things of that nature. Lastly, does anyone know if there is a product i could by to allow my standard trolling motor to one that would accomodate a foot control? thx in advance!!!!

Welcome Aboard! 8)

The most common method of attaching the flooring supports is to screw them to the ribs of the boat. Most members here either use wood, or aluminum angle. The wood is normally attached also with screws to the supports, and the type of screws depends on if you used wood or alum. angle for the framework. Which ever method you choose (wood or angle) make sure you use stainlees screws. Carpeting is commonly glued over the plywood, therby covering the screws. How wide of 14 ft'er are you looking at? Width sometimes plays a role in how high the deck is mounted above the bottom of the boat. Stability and safety is paramount. Look through the posts in this forum and you'll see a lot of cool mods, and one thing to do is to make it work for your type/style of fishing, and the type of water you'll be on. Oh, I don't believe there is such an animal to convert a tiller-type tm to a foot operated one.

You can get a foot switch for your hand operated trolling motor, but all it will do is allow you to turn the prop on and off with your foot. You still have to steer it with your hand.
