I'm hunting a good repair manual for my 1989 Johnson tracker 50hp

I'm looking for a real shop year specific manual not the genetics that don't go into detail

Need to replace some lower unit seals and from what I've found on the web you need a special tool or two

Never baught one for an outboard before, can anybody point me twards what I need

Dang fellers, what are the mechanics using

I figured I'd be able to find a used factory book on the net bit no go. Seems the generic seloc books are all that's available and every review says they are worthless

I also tried to locate a factory manual for my motor, and so far have had the same results as you. I bought the Sealoc version so I at least have something for now. The Sealoc tries to cover too many years and model variations in a single manual to be very thorough. If you look through it carefully you can get a pretty complete listing for tune up specs (timing etc) but the pics in the manual are crappy at best. I've found some situations where pic included with some instructions had a pic of a different model motor. So bottom line is that they are pretty low grade manuals and I'm still watching out for a factory manual for mine.

ebay would be my first choice for a used factory service manual...

Fellers, than you thank you thank you

I was just about to almost think I was going to have to pay somebody to do the work on my motor
