Hello, I'm new here reading about restoring a aluminum boat. I bought a 1999 Lund ProSport 1700. It was known to me at the time of purchase that the Transom core was rotted out, and the boat was in overall neglected condition. After getting it home, I realized the scope of the damage, and the galvanic corrosion from the treated plywood transom core. after removing the rotted core So only the .070 aluminum outer skin was left. I could shine a light behind it and in the dark it looked like you looking up at a starry night, pinholes everywhere. I'm looking at laminating basically the original transom skin between two new pieces of aluminum with a tough epoxy, then solid riveting the perimeter. Really here looking to see how people thicken epoxy. I have fumed silica, but am concerned that my epoxy will loose some other quality such as waterproofness or toughness. Any epoxy experts out there. I have Gulvit, but it is to thin for a vertical surface. it needs to be thickened. any advise is appreciated.

Thanks Doug
