. . . any ideas?
All markings except "Classic" and an expired California watercraft number have been removed. Would like to reunite it with the rightful owner, or his landscaper.

Call the CA DMV or boat registration agy with the #, and let them deal with it.

I assume it was illegally dumped on your property? I would definitely call the law. You should be able to determine something from the registration numbers that were left on the boat, Is the hull ID on it? It should be molded into the transom on the upper right side (starboard).

The boat might of been stolen and than stripped before being dropped off.

The California DMV was of no assistance, seems they purge their records every 5 years or so, in the fashion of Lois Lerner and the IRS.

The HID will also be found in a second location inside the hull. I don't know where on that one but look around.

Hell, the State doesn't want it, you don't want it, and apparently, the owner or the thief doesn't want it....

Seems like a perfect listing on Craig's list.

Best wishes. I know the police just have waay too much on their plates to worry about it. Is there any wrecker's yard value to such a hull?

. . . anyway . . . I'm attempting to set up a sting but I need to know what make and model boat I need an outdrive for.
