First....thanks for this forum. It is wonderful. I have been reading for several days and really enjoy it. Wondering if you can help me out. I have a boat that I want to wire a bilge and other items. I will have to install a panel but have no clue how to wire it. I will be happy to pay for anyones help or time if you can connect me with someone. I know I can do the work just need help.

Thanks again. Love the forum.

it really isn't that difficult, but we need some more information. what items will you be wiring, how many batteries, are the batteries linked in parallel or seperate? Do you want to run to a prefabricated switch/fuse panel or will you have a seperate fuse and switch panel? Lots of options it just depends on what setup you are looking for.

With regards to the batteries I have two. One for starting the motor and a deep cycle for the trolling motor. I have the batteries seperate with the deep cycle towards the front of the boat with the trolling motor and the starting battery located at the back. For the deep cycle battery for the trolling motor i have one of those minn kota battery boxes with built in fuses.. I have it running straight to the trolling motor.

Looking to wire in a bilge and a radio and a fish finder deal. I am looking to install one of those switches that has the built in fuses by the switch.

My boat is a 1648 commercial Alweld. This thing is a tank I love it. Just looking to rig it out myself.

Have you thought about adding a second smaller deep cycle battery just for your electronics? Thats how I have done it in the past so that there is not extra strain on my trolling motor battery. It depends on how much you use your trolling motor and accessories.

this link should help, and welcome to the site. good luck.
