I'm trying to find a good way of fastening my plywood to aluminum angle. I've drilled pilot holes and some screws grab, some break and some don't even catch. Does anyone have ideas to help???? Thanks!

Use a larger diameter screw to stop the breaking. If you're screws are not catching or stripping easily, you're drilling the pilot hole too large or letting your drill wobble the hole out while you drill it. If your wood isn't too thick you might also consider rivets.

Drill and tap the aluminum or just through bolt with lock nuts.

With wood and metal I would just through bolt it with 1/4-20 oval countersunk screws and lock nuts. The head will be a little big but it should also hold well in shear or tension.
