How do I calculate thrust?

I'm wanting to repower my 18' canoe but can't deside if I should buy a 2' fan from Lowe's or a big 3 footer with my 20% coupon from Harbor freight. I need to go from CFM to thrust.

I think you get some credit for global cooling by using the smaller fan.

If you’re going to harbor freight, get a squirrel cage fan. Way more efficient and easier to trim once you’re on plane.

If you go with an airmover you could easily plumb in a fuel system and run it with an afterburner.

I think you’ll go faster if the fan blades are under water.

Of course if you dump that fan in the water the fish will float up to you and you won’t have to go far.

Bigger is always better . But make sure you stick to a 4 blade. Not to impressed with those 3 blades.
