Just as the title says. Just wondering, so I can get a better understanding of what I am getting myself into. I am planning on getting a 14' boat for my two young boys and myself to fish out here on Oahu, HI. Thanx in advance for the response. Aloha

It will hold up just fine. Keep your eye out for corrosion. Any time different metals touch each other they like to corrode and salt water seems to encourage it. Rinse it off after use.

It will be just fine, best not to leave it in the water when not in use. Rinse with fresh after use. It will give you years of fun.

Put a good coat of Trilux 33 anti-fouling paint on the bottom to combat marine growth, as marine growth etches into the aluminum and accelerates corrosion. Also, install a zinc anode on the transom, and connect a bonding wire between the anode and the engine, or the negative terminal of the battery.

Do those 2 things, and you can just about double the life expectancy of an aluminum boat kept in saltwater.
