how much oil for a 2 stroke 5.5hp outboard

Hello fellow boaters, can any one tell me how much 2 stroke oil I mix with 3 gallons of gas. I have a 1960 Evinrude Fisherman 5.5hp. I think it's a 50:1 ratio. I'm a new boater still trying to learn the basics.

with the better oils and gasoline of today vs 1960, i'd run it at 32:1.

Thanks for the info guys. Ok so now I have a new problem. I put a new fuel line on my tank and im using a new fuel line with a bulb. The fuel line is not getting pressurized so no fuel is not getting to the outboard. Its sprays out fuel at the tanks fuel line connection when I pump the bulb, I also hear the air coming out at the connect from the fuel line to the outboard. Am I doing something wrong? Please help?

Make sure that the hose is going the right direction. There should be an arrow on the bulb.

Also make sure you are plugging the connections together properly. Some of them actually will fit together backwards and it isn't always obvious what the right way is. Look closely and you'll figure it out.
