Hi guys!

Just found and joined this great forum.
I am doing some work on my 12 feet quicksilver (Marine) v hull , and need to cut some new wooden or aluminum boards for flooring.
And now I wonder how to make the cuts so it fits nicely with all the curves?
I mean; do you just measure the widths or can you first make a template from cardboard or paper?
Thnaks for your help!

Greetings from The Netherlands

I have not put a floor in my boat yet, but I have seen on this forum where members have. A lot of them use cardboard. Go up and use the "Search" and type template for flooring or whatever and you will get all the posts that are related.

Be sure you open the post with "Post subject". Hope that helps you.

Lay an over sized piece of cardboard over the gunnels. Now trace the outline of the boat onto the underside of the cardboard. Cut this out and cut the template in half lengthwise. Lay the 2 halves in the boat they will over lap. Tape the 2 halves together.

Carboard template is the way to go. Only other thing I'll add is use hot glue instead of tape. Holds the template together very nicely, and is easy to apply as you go about laying out your template.

thanks for those great tips guys! I am sure this will work.
After reading on this great forum for a couple of days and seeing all the great work done I am eager to start on my project.
I'll post a new thread with some photos in the hope to get some more good advice from you guys. ;)
Thanks again!
JP
