I sold the 10 ft jon last weekend and the trailer on Friday. I asked the guy if it would fit his boat and this is the story he told me. He said he had a trailer just like the one I had but he went duck hunting in December with some ice on the lake. He didn't realize how thick the ice was and when he back the trailer in, it bent the tongue badly. I guess he decided that wouldn't happen again, so he said he replaced the tongue with a 10 ft piece of 1/2" tube steel to front of his trailer. He said it was really strong but so heavy that the stand would sink into the ground about six inches. He also said that the trailer tires were nearly flat and he was afraid of a blowout going down the road. He summed it up in one word...OVERKILL!
It was good that he could laugh about it.
