I got a great deal on 4 Tite Lok Rod holders plus base plates. The rod holders retail for $34.99 each and the bases $8.99 a piece. I got 4 rod holders and 3 bases (he's gonna mail me the 4th one when he finds it) for $70.00. Sure, I had to drive 65 miles one way to get them but it's still a great deal.

Sure did hesitate about where to drill the holes in my top rail. Once I drilled the first hole it was cake. Drilled and tapped the holes and put a big dollop of Gutter Silicone sealer on the threads of the bolts.

They held up perfectly today as I put my dipsey rods in them and even had to leave an 8 pound (approx) King fighting on one of them while I was trying to get another King out of my net.

With the holder removed adn stowed the bases will stay there and are low enough (and close enough to the cleat) that they will not affect the cover at all. Gonna put the other two on the back, parallel with the hole in the deck for the seat pedestal.
