There are only 2 pieces of wood in this entire build, the Transom and the Small Pieces sandwiched between the Home made Jackplate, I found a good deal on a cherry 88' Model 20Hp Mariner, only catch is it was a long shaft motor so I fabricated a 4.5" jackplate to the transom to mount it on. :LOL2:
I really wanted a build that was gonna last many years without worrying about wood rotting away.

That looks like awesome work on the boat and your little helper.... getem started young they will thank you or it later \:D/
Thats my Build buddy and Main fishing partner, she just turned 8 :) Thanks.

By the way, the re-purposed milk crates make awesome seat bases they fit perfectly between the support ribs and the back thwart seat ! The red cooler in the middle serves as a dry stowage area for things I don't want to get wet.

I just posted in my build that I have no idea what to do in order to add the rear seat to the boat. I love the milk crate idea!! I may be stealing that haha

Crate was Free, and you can store things like Anchor lines, spare prop etc.underneath, just so happens that the crates were a perfect size to fit snug behind the last support beam and in front of the rear bench seat. I ran a stainless steel sheet metal screw through the back of the crate into the bench to keep it from pitching forward.
It works great.
