I bought an old 1969 Sea King that was in pretty rough shape. I bought the boat and trailer together for a fair $275. I sanded it, painted it, fitted it with plywood decking, waterproofed the plywood, and carpeted it. I now have a pretty decent fishing rig! I am not completely done with it, I have another seat to add, a front hatch and lights, but it is for all intents and purposes lake ready. Enjoy!

Thank you all for the compliments!
I haven't decided on an outboard yet, I guess I will just wait till I find the right one at the right price... I did alot of shopping around and research before I purchased that boat... not that it cost alot of money technically, but heck I analyse the cost of mustard between size, quality and value before buying it. In the mean time I put a 54lb thrust trolley on it that pushes it around pretty good, and since all I really need it for is fishing that will get me by till I find a good outboard.
Although if anyone has suggestions, I am listening. I always appreciate the advice of someone who knows much more about something than I. I do believe I was reading a thread on here about staying away from a merc(correct me if i'm wrong)... and wouldn't you know it I was on the water yesterday and a fellow fisherman was trying to sell me a Merc... As of now I wouldn't even know what to ask him about it or what a fair price is.
As for accessories, I do have plans to add rod holders and cup holders in the very near future. I am also struck between either a cooler or livewell... I guess that depends on whether I want my beer cold or my fish fresh. :LOL2:
I also want to put a pedestal in the middle with another leather seat, I am just trying to decide if I want a pole or to build a box that I could use for additional storage.

You will get a lot of help from very knowable people her.
I think the thread about outboard was mine.
And I would never have known that about older mercer. Glad I asked.
