Me and my Buddy took the boat out for its 1st actual fishing trip. Went out Wednesday April 13th.
Time: 3:00pm-6:30pm
Air Temp: 75
Water Temp: 51-54
Water Clarity: Stained
We started off by throwing a jig (electric blue) around some brush off a main lake bank. I caught one small 12" bass after about 3 casts. We fished along for about 20mins with no more bites.
We pulled up on a deep point So I picked up my crank bait rod rigged with a Bomber Model A in the Sexy Shad color (6-8ft i think) and caught 2 more short ones right off the bat. So my buddy tied on something similar (an older one in a shad color.) He caught 1 short one after about 20 casts. I then caught the 1st keeper of the day. It was 17" long and probably 2.5-2.75lbs.
After that we just kept hopping from point to point catching a few here and few there. My buddy ended up catching 2 keepers. Both were about 18" long and about 3lbs.
We caught 12 fish total that evening. Most being in the 12-13" range. But boy did it feel good to finally be fishing again!
