 6:00AM-11:00AM Sunny, light wind, 70-80 air temps, 77-79 water temps, slightly stained water. Fished with a Depps Buzzjet first. Had a nice smallie on within the first ten casts. Unfortunatley the 3lb+ fish came off after the initial jump. That was the only hit I got on topwater lures. Worked a 3.5" Mizmo tube on the bottom for a while. No takers. Broke out the 7' Daiwa L&T crank rod. Worked the humps with a SK Series 3 Oyster colored crankbait. A chunk smallie hit the lure right near the boat, but the hookup was a no go. On the immediate cast afterwards I was finally able to hookup with a solid 3lb 7oz. smallie. Finished the rest of the morning throwing the crankbait and a SK Redeye lipless crank. No more fish.
