Took a friend from the other site I frequent perch fishing this morning. This past winter he invited me to ice fish a local private pond where I caught some real nice 9-10 inch Blue Gills. We drifted large fathead minnows on crappie rigs in 55 - 65 FOW straight out of the Waukegan Harbor on Lake Michigan. Considering the cold air and water temps, we did okay. Water temp was 37 degrees and air temp was 40 (without windchill). We caught 16 perch between us and when we split them up I guess he ended up with the two huge, fat monsters. They were both right at 15" and had a huge girth. Should put a flexible tape in the boat to measure things like that.
Anyhow, here's a crappy self timer picture of a couple that I brought home.
