So, after 4 months of anxiously waiting for the ice to go out, today, I finally registered my new boat, and got her in the water. :D I Decided to try my luck trolling for landlocks on Maine's Sebago Lake, and my efforts paid off!

While removing the hook, I managed to send it right through my thumb, and with a barb, pulling it out was not an option.... ended up driving it back out and cutting the hook. On the way home I stopped into work to pick a couple more flies. These are some pics I took of my rig in the parking lot. 8)

To any of you who are fortunate enough to have landlock salmon in your area, and want something fun to do just after the ice goes out, I highly recommend trolling for them on a fly rod. There's nothing that gets the blood pumping like hearing your reel scream as line goes roaring off, then the thrill of watching them jump on the end of your line while you fight em'!

Thanks for reading, and tight lines!

So did you get the fly out?
Nice fish, bet they were a bast on the fly rod.

I got the fly out, had to push it through the rest of my skin (to expose the barb) and cut the hook. Now I have a pierced thumb haha.

We have a lake here in upstate S.C., (Jocassee), that has been rumored, to be enrolled, in a trial Salmon stocking program, the past few years. I'm not sure what's going on with the program, but would love the chance you guy's up north get, at those Salmon. Jocassee is man made, but resembles a glacier lake, it's built in the mountains, with the largest earth ****, existing, I think! ( don't want to be embarassed by Zum, again ). The lake is relatively small, but very deep. 400 to 500 FT. and they think Salmon would do very well here. Nice catch on the maiden voyage!!!! And nice looking rig. Scott
