Mercury 110 9.8 carburetor

Well I went and left gas in the motor way too long and I'm pretty sure I need to take the carburetor off and open and clean it.
I found a pretty good video on you-tube for removal and dis/reassembly.... But I don't know if their are gaskets that have to be replaced and where to find them if so. One place I did find was out of stock.
The carburetor is a Tillotson model KB-8A.

Did some more searching and found this;
Carburetor kit-gaskets and filter= part# 18-7013
Float= part# 18-7208

Together about $25 plus shipping.

Depending on how old of motor it is yes, you will have to replace the gaskets, the older ones had cork gaskets and they were pretty much one time use anyway. Those were pretty simple carbs and on the scale of carbs I would rate them "easy".

Get a kit that includes the float. They absorb gas & get heavy over time.

I'll get the kit with the gaskets, filter and float.
Mine is a 1970 model.
I'm getting new spark plugs and maybe spark plug wires too... the wires say Kiekhaefer so they may be 1970 too!?

Got the carburetor cleaned out and put back together.

I think I mis-aligned something putting it back in though.
The "start" setting on the throttle won't align when in neutral...?
Couldn't get it started yesterday. (first try since rebuild)

Also had to retire the old metal gas tank. Rust city inside.
