Finally got the boat out of the water and started on my i-pilot install.

My question is to the people that have a tracker boat or one similar with the little platform for the trolling motor.

I'm having trouble getting the quick release plate to lay flat and if I cock it just a little bit it will lay flat but looks funny.

The only thing the minn kota instructions say are to install as close to center line as possible and to make sure it doesn't hit the edge of the boat when deploying or stowing.

I'll probably shim it to get it to lay flat but has anyone else run into this and installed "crooked" or some other way?

Thanks

just finished mounting my V2 onto my Pro15 using the quick release mount.Had a bit of trouble like you.The larger plate mounted to TM didn't want to sit flat and low enough let the u shaped rod to pass through both plates.I chamfered the holes on the inside plate a small bit and put some pressure on the TM while tapping the U rod in.Went in no problem, and its all a nice snug and flat fit.

You must have the next model bracket up from mine. Mine just slides in the bottom plate and you put a thumb screw in the side.
I ended up with 3 bolts through the mounting platform on the boat and the fourth bolt runs through the versa track/rub rail/ gunnell on the front because of the amount of overhang I needed. Some pics trying to show that.
