MinnKota 30 AT question

I have a MK 30AT trolling motor on my little jon boat and it is making a sort of grinding sound.

Would this be the bearings, brushes, or the whole motor needing replaced?

If it is bearings, how hard it is to replace those?

pull the prop off and make sure theres no trash. check for play on the shaft

no trash or line, feels tight. when the prop is hand turned, it has a grind feeling to it as well.. the motor works good, its just loud..

def. somthing going in there then. i'd pull that motor out, it shouldnt be hard. then you can physically check the motor and bearings

I may pull her apart after christmas. The boat is in a friend's garage about 3 miles from my house.
