I've got a Minnkota Edge 40 bow mount trolling motor that has a slightly loose mount. When I turn it on, there's a slight amount of slack in the mount. Has anyone else had this problem, and how do you fix it--the bushings seem tight and I've tightened the screws.

It's typical on the weaker mounts most manufactures make, bushings wear out ( they may not even seem or look worn ), & locking pins wear out too. If your concerned about noise, typically when you hit the power you can put a small piece/pad of duct tape on the area where the scissor part of the mount goes to lock into the bottom part when you deploy the trolling motor. A typical cause for the mount gaining slack is vibration from rough water. Keep your trolling motor strapped down ( you can even use two straps ) & if possible attach it to the deck, TH marine has a product specifically for this that might be worth looking into. Here's a link to YOU TUBE showing what it is & how to install it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6Vt0mrCxWQ
